Ingredients

Scale

For the Sandwich

  • 4 slices sourdough bread (or ciabatta, whole grain)
  • 8 oz roasted turkey slices
  • 2 slices pepper jack cheese (or cheddar, mozzarella)
  • 1 small jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional for spice)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp spicy mustard (or Dijon mustard)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 45 slices tomato
  • ½ cup lettuce (romaine, arugula, or spinach)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened (for toasting)

Optional Additions

  • 2 strips crispy bacon for extra crunch
  • ½ avocado, sliced for creaminess
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce for added heat

Instructions

1. Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Spread honey on one side of two bread slices and spicy mustard on the other two slices.
  2. Spread mayonnaise evenly over both slices for extra creaminess.

2. Assemble the Sandwich

  1. Layer turkey slices evenly on two slices of bread.
  2. Add pepper jack cheese over the turkey.
  3. Place tomato slices and lettuce on top.
  4. Sprinkle jalapeño slices for a spicy kick.

3. Toast the Sandwich

  1. If serving fresh: Assemble the sandwich and serve immediately.
  2. If toasting:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
    • Butter the outer sides of the bread.
    • Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese melts.

4. Serve and Enjoy

  1. Slice in half for easy serving.
  2. Serve with sweet potato fries, coleslaw, or a side salad.

Notes

  • Mild Version: Skip the jalapeños and use honey mustard instead of spicy mustard.
  • Extra Spicy: Add sriracha or red pepper flakes.
  • Low-Carb Option: Use lettuce wraps instead of bread.
  • Storage: Best enjoyed fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
